What is HIFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focus Ultrasound.
The Ultrasonic wave generated from the transducer into the tissue and using the heat effect generated at the cross-over point (focus).

HIFU does not cause epidermal damage and promotes collagen denaturation and regeneration by raising tissue temperature by 65-75 degree Celsius .

The energy output from the focus ultrasound transducer gives the effects on cheek and sub-ocular skin sagging, eye winkles, neck wrinkles, eyebrows sagging, nasolabial folds, pores, and reduce the fat on abdomen, forearms, thigh and buttocks as well as improving double chin, droopy face, downsizing and lifting/tightening overall face.

Patient's facial contours and fine lines improvement can be confirmed after 4 weeks of treatment.
Changes can be continuously observed for 2 to 3 months after treatment.

Pros of HIFU
No damage to surrounding tissues other than the target point.
Not harmful when passing through human tissue.
No infection or bleeding by non-surgical method.
Safe treatment with few side effects.

Contraindication
- Patients with Herpes virus infection
- Patients with Active autoimmune disease
- Pregnant women and infants
- Keloid skin
- Patient who received cardiac pacemaker, stunt or metal implant
- Patients with Cutaneous cancer

FAQ

Q. What is ULTRAcel Q+ good for?
A. ULTRAcel Q+ is very effective for skin lifting and skin sagging.

Q. Does it interfere with everyday life?
A. No. you can return to daily life immediately after the procedure with ULTRAcel Q+

Q. How long does the procedure take?
A. Dot - It takes about 8 to 10 minutes for full face treatment, and this is the most specialized feature of ULTRAcel Q+ as it is very short.
Linear - It takes about 3 to 5 minutes for full face treatment, and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes for body treatment (each area). Linear treatment is even faster than Q dot mode.

Q. What is difference between dot type and linear?
First is speed. Treatment speed of Qt mode was the fastest, linear mode is even faster than Q+. Second is treatment area. For the Q+ mode, each dot(focal point) has high- intensity energy and it reaches about 65*C which is the optimal temperature for collagen shrinkage, effective for face elasticity and lifting. On the other hand, for the linear mode, it delivers wide energy area to a target area with bulk heating. This technology is effective for volume reduction as the temperature of the surrounding tissue reaches just above 58Celsius with wide energy area.

Q. What is a main indication of linear type?
A. Linear 4.5 can effectively reduce the double chin without surgical treatment, and Linear
2.0 is effective for flushing, brightening

Q. Can I get treatment after botulinum toxin or filler treatment?
A. We recommend you to get the treatments such as botulinum toxin and filler injection after the procedure with ULTRAcel Q+.

Q. Can I get HIFU treatment after thread lift treatment?
A. It would not be advisable to have HIFU after thread lift. You would need to wait for those thread to be fully dissolved. There are two types of thread lift on today's market: PDO and PLLA.
PDO can be dissolved in 6~9 months (PDO last within the tissues until 9 months,) PLLA can be dissolved in 12~18 months. However, there is no evidence that HIFU treatment causes side effects,
melts or breaks the thread immediately after or before the dissolution of the thread lift.
Although the timing of HIFU treatment varies depending on the physician, it is generally recommended to treat HIFU first and then perform thread lift.

Q. When can I expect the effectiveness?
A. You can feel the effect immediately after the procedure, but after 2 to 3 months, the collagen regeneration takes place and this process can last up to 6 months.

Q. How many treatments do I need to take?
A. it is effective even by one time treatment. However, if you want better and lasting effects, you may request for additional treatments.

Q. Are there any side effects from ULTRAcel Q+ procedure?
A. There may be some pain during the procedure, swelling, tingling may be accompanies but  these are temporary reaction.
